GA 6th and 7th Grade CRCT Social Studies Standards

In spring ’08, American Book Company published books to prepare students for the sixth and seventh grade CRCTs. Like all ABC products, these books covered the state standards.

Over the summer, Georgia’s Department of Education elected to revise the standards for these grade levels. In addition, the state decided that the CRCTs for sixth and seventh grade would not count for the ’08-’09 school year. Instead, the state intends to get feedback from teachers, administrators, etc. and, if necessary, revise the sixth and seventh grade standards again in summer 2009.

Given that the current standards have changed, the ’08-’09 exams do not count, and that standards will likely undergo more revisions in summer ’09, American Book Company has elected to wait until fall 2009 to publish a revised edition of the sixth and seventh grade CRCT materials.
